A Cummins Case Study
Tellus Data Center, a subsidiary of AIS in Thailand, needed a highly reliable standby power solution to keep its Tier 3 mobile switching facilities operating without interruption during utility outages. To meet its critical uptime requirements, the data center evaluated vendors on cost, reliability, and support, and chose Cummins for its proven expertise in data center power systems.
Cummins implemented 12 MW of standby power using eight C1675 D5A diesel generator sets with KTA50 GS8 engines, PowerCommand 3.3 controls, and two PowerCommand Digital Master Control (DMC) 1000 units. The integrated system provided redundancy and seamless operation, with the generators starting within seven seconds during a utility outage to keep critical loads and the high-speed chiller running, helping Tellus Data Center maintain uninterrupted service.
