Preview of the Baan Khanitha Case Study

Teak Dinner Cruise For The Chao Phraya River

Baan Khanitha, a Thai restaurant group in Bangkok, wanted to turn a traditional teak rice barge into Baan Khanitha Cruise, a floating fine-dining venue on the Chao Phraya River. The challenge was fitting a modern commercial kitchen, refrigeration, dishwashing, air-conditioning, lighting, and entertainment systems into a historic-style vessel while preserving its teak character.

Cummins supplied a 4BTA 3.9-liter genset paired with a 30 kW Stamford generator to provide reliable electrical power for the boat’s extensive galley and onboard systems. The Cummins solution gave Baan Khanitha ample capacity for all kitchen and hospitality needs, helping create a distinctive floating restaurant experience that blends Thai tradition with modern food-service performance.
