Sophisticated New Trawler from Danish Yard

Værftskaj 2, working with Jobi Yard in Denmark, needed a new fishing trawler designed for reliable towing, onboard deck operations, and auxiliary power for a three-person crew. They turned to Cummins for marine propulsion and generator solutions for the vessel, later to be named *Emilie*.

Cummins supplied a QSK19-M main engine rated at 750 HP at 1800 RPM, paired with a Mekanord marine gear and controllable pitch propeller, plus two 6BT5.9-powered 80 kWe generator sets for hydraulic, crane, and electrical needs. The finished system was expected to deliver over 14 tons of bollard pull and a 10-knot free-running speed, giving the new trawler the performance needed for fishing operations.
