Song Long Engineering Service Co. Ltd - Customer Case Study

Song Long Engineering Service Co. Ltd faced growing demand for shallow-draft container shipping support on the Mekong and Saigon Rivers, as more containers needed to move between deep-draft ports and inland depots in Vietnam. To meet this need, the company worked with Cummins to supply main propulsion engines for new container vessels.

Cummins provided a pair of KTA19-M main engines rated at 600 HP each for each of two 75-by-13-meter container ships being built for ITC Corporation at An Phu Shipbuilding Company. The vessels were designed to carry 128 TEU and up to 2,500 tons of cargo each, improving river transport efficiency and creating a more seamless link between deep-draft ports and local shallow-draft terminals.
