A Cummins Case Study
SEACOR Marine needed a high-power propulsion and auxiliary power package for its new Alya McCall vessel, a large single-hulled combination supply and crew boat designed for offshore service. To meet the demands of the vessel’s size, speed, and passenger capacity, SEACOR Marine selected Cummins engines and generator sets, including EPA Tier 3 certified QSK60-M propulsion engines and QSM11-DM auxiliary generators.
Cummins supplied five 2,680 HP QSK60 propulsion engines and three 290 kW QSM11 auxiliary generator sets for the Incat-Crowther-designed vessel. The solution helped the Alya McCall achieve 38-knot speeds during sea trials, making it one of the most powerful and fastest vessels of its type, and the vessel was then headed for customer acceptance trials and future contract service in Saudi Arabia.
