SEACOR Marine - Customer Case Study

SEACOR Marine, one of the largest offshore marine services players, needed fast, nimble mid-size vessels that could meet demanding market needs while carrying more cargo, passengers, and equipment. To power these new Fast Support Vessels, SEACOR worked with Cummins and selected high-output marine engines for a pair of 180-foot crew boats under construction at Neuville Boat Works.

Cummins supplied four QSK50-M diesel engines per vessel, each rated at 1,800 HP, plus QSM11-powered 290 kW generators for auxiliary power. The solution gives each boat 7,200 HP total, enabling speeds of 30 knots at 50 tons deadweight, 25 knots at 130 DWT, and 21 knots at 180 DWT, while supporting DP-2, firefighting systems, and substantial cargo and fuel capacities.
