Rajang Maju’s Handy Size Tug

Rajang Maju Marine Industries, based in Sibu, Sarawak, needed a reliable, promptly deliverable handy-size tug for marine operations. To power the vessel, the yard chose Cummins, using its KTA19-M3 Tier II diesel engines as the core propulsion solution.

Cummins supplied a pair of KTA19-M3 Tier II diesels, each delivering 447 kW (600 HP), to drive the tug’s 23.5-meter hull through Reintjes marine gears and 1,680 mm propellers. The result is a 1,200 HP tug ready for launch, with supporting onboard systems including generator sets, towing gear, and navigation equipment for safe and efficient operations.
