Powerful New ATBs for Vane Bunkering

ATB Financial’s fleet expansion project called for powerful, reliable propulsion and onboard power systems for three new articulated tug-barge units being built for Vane Brothers. Cummins was selected to supply the marine engines and generators needed to support the vessels’ performance and operational demands.

Cummins provided a pair of QSK-60M Tier 3 engines rated at 2,200 HP for each tug, along with 125 kW generators and a 60 kW emergency generator. The engines were paired with Reintjes gears and large bronze propellers to deliver the required propulsion package, with the first tug scheduled for delivery in August 2017.
