Philippine Fleet Builds for Reliability

Laguna International Industrial Park’s marine operations needed dependable propulsion for a new coastal tanker, the M/T Jewel Faith, which would carry petroleum products and therefore required strong reliability. Cummins was selected to help meet this challenge with marine engine support for the vessel.

Cummins supplied a pair of six-cylinder KTA19-M3 marine engines, delivering a combined 1,200 hp through ZFW650 gears with 5:1 reduction to twin 1574 mm propellers. The solution gave the 69-meter tanker a cruising speed of 10 knots, providing the reliable propulsion performance needed for safe coastal service.
