Peterborough City Hospital - Customer Case Study

Peterborough City Hospital, part of the Stamford & Peterborough Hospitals Foundation Trust, needed a highly reliable standby power solution to protect critical hospital operations from mains outages. Cummins was selected to supply the emergency power system, including three C2250D5 generator sets, a DMC300 Digital Master Control System, fuel systems, and associated attenuation and cabling.

Cummins implemented a 2,680 kW standby power installation capable of taking critical load within the hospital’s 15-second specification. The system automatically synchronizes and brings full site power online during a blackout, with the first generator energizing the 11kV ring while the others synchronize, helping keep the hospital 100% operational and ensuring round-the-clock power protection.
