Pelican Offshore Services Pte Ltd - Customer Case Study

Pelican Offshore Services Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based offshore oil and gas vessel operator, needed a high-speed crew boat to support rig crews and light freight transport in Southeast Asia. Working with its sister company Penguin Shipyard International, the customer developed the Flex-36 aluminum vessel design and turned to Cummins marine engines for the power package.

Cummins supplied the propulsion and onboard power solution for the M/V Pelican Grand, including three KTA38-M2 diesel engines delivering 1,007 kW each at 1,900 RPM, plus two 6BT5.9 engines driving 80 kW generators. The result was a 36-meter FSIV with strong speed, maneuverability, and operating capability, including capacity for 70 passengers, 40 tons of cargo, and firefighting output of up to 600 cubic meters per hour.
