Parahyba Campos Designed Line Handling Vessels

Parahyba Campos, a naval architect firm based in Salvador, Brazil, was contracted to design and support six 32-by-9.6-meter line handling boats for offshore oil operations. Working with Cummins, the customer needed vessels that could reliably assist shuttle tankers in heavy weather while maintaining high levels of redundancy and operational availability.

Cummins supplied the propulsion and onboard power solution for the six vessels, including three 1350 HP KTA38-M2 engines per boat, ZF3350 gears, and Cummins 6B-P99DM6 generator sets. The result was a fleet of line handling boats designed for 45-ton bollard pull, 10-knot speed, and dependable service for Macaé City operations, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2013.
