New Yard Builds for Excellence

New Generation Shipbuilding, a recognized shipyard in Houma, Louisiana, needed reliable propulsion and power solutions for its growing lineup of pushboats and other vessels. To meet the demands of building a 72x30-foot pushboat for Blessey Marine and preparing sister ships for future delivery, the yard turned to Cummins for main engines and generator power.

Cummins supplied a pair of grid-cooled K38-M main engines, each rated at 1,000 HP at 1,800 RPM, along with Twin Disc gearing and Kahlenberg propellers for the *Lisa Gail Strafuss* and its sister vessel *Ben Strafuss*. The vessels also received Cummins-powered 85 kW generator sets, helping New Generation Shipbuilding deliver proven towboat performance with strong visibility, dependable power, and a clear path to additional upcoming projects.
