New Generation Shipbulding - Customer Case Study

New Generation Shipbuilding needed a versatile offshore supply vessel for Gulf of Mexico service, with flexible accommodations for up to 32 people, substantial cargo capacity, and the performance to support long-term charter work. To meet this challenge, they worked with Cummins, using Cummins propulsion, power, and thruster systems as part of the vessel’s design.

Cummins supplied a pair of K38M Tier 2 diesel engines delivering 2,000 HP total, along with QSM11-powered gensets and a QSM11-powered bow thruster for the Mr. Ernie supply boat. The result was a USCG-inspected, ABS load line-classed vessel capable of 13.0 knots, 375 LT of cargo capacity, and strong operational flexibility for offshore servicing and support in the GOM.
