New Generation Shipbulding - Customer Case Study

New Generation Shipbulding, a new Louisiana marine yard, needed to build a high-quality pushboat that would meet the expectations of operators looking for reliable, efficient work vessels. For its MV Gunner project, the yard selected Cummins KTA38-M main engines and Cummins-powered 85 kW generator sets as part of the vessel’s propulsion and onboard power package.

Cummins helped power a well-appointed 72-by-30-foot pushboat with two 1000 HP main engines, giving the MV Gunner the performance needed for towing barges on the Intracoastal Waterway. The result was an immaculate, modern vessel with a spacious engine room, comfortable accommodations, and advanced wheelhouse equipment, helping New Generation Shipbulding attract additional orders for the same design.
