Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport - Customer Case Study

Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport in Hambantota, Sri Lanka, needed reliable standby power for its new international airport operations, including critical support for the cargo unit. Cummins Power Generation supplied the solution, providing 2 x C1000D5 gensets through Trade Promoters Limited.

Cummins Power Generation delivered and installed the generators, with one unit soundproofed to operate at 70 decibels at one meter to meet noise requirements. The standby system supported airport testing and integration with the fiber optic control system, helping the project open successfully in March 2013 and strengthening Cummins Power Generation’s position as a preferred power partner for airports in Sri Lanka.
