Preview of the Makro Case Study

Makro - Customer Case Study

Makro Cash and Carry, Thailand’s first established discount store and hypermart chain, needed dependable standby power across 44 branches to support refrigeration and cold storage in line with local regulations. To meet this challenge, Cummins supplied gensets powered by VTA28 and QST30 engines, rated from 700 kVA to 1000 kVA, together with PowerCommand® Controls.

Cummins Power Generation implemented 23 generator units in total, delivering reliable emergency power tailored to different store sizes and needs. The solution helped Makro maintain uninterrupted operations, and Cummins also proved its ability to respond quickly by delivering units ahead of schedule when one branch advanced its opening date, ensuring installation and testing could be completed on time.
