A Cummins Case Study
Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC, a leading Sri Lankan brewery in Biyagama, needed to expand its standby and peaking power capacity to support a fully automated production plant and ensure minimal downtime. The company wanted to add two 1000 kVA generator sets to an existing system that already included Cummins and non-Cummins units, while avoiding interfacing problems by standardizing controls across all three gensets.
Cummins Power Generation, through distributor Trade Promoters Limited, supplied two QST30-G4 genset units with PCC3100P controls, plus a PCC3300 controller for the existing competitor unit and a DMC1000 for utility paralleling. The solution successfully integrated the mixed-brand system, enabled seamless power support for production, and secured a service contract covering both Cummins and non-Cummins equipment, delivering the customer’s preferred “Power of One” experience from Cummins.
