Leading Offshore Shipping Company, working in the modern offshore vessel market, needed a propulsion setup that could support demanding platform supply vessel operations while improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact. They turned to Cummins for a marine diesel-electric propulsion solution using KTA50-D(M) engines.

Cummins equipped the vessel with four KTA50-D(M) engines driving generators for diesel-electric propulsion, allowing only the engines needed for the task to run. This improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions and operating costs, and was paired with SCR exhaust aftertreatment that cut NOx by approximately 90%, helping the ship achieve its “green” designation.
