A Cummins Case Study
IHC Beaver, a Netherlands-based global dredge manufacturer, needed reliable propulsion and auxiliary power for its range of cutter suction dredgers working in demanding harbor maintenance and deepening applications around the world. The vessels highlighted in the case study, including the Beaver 7522, 7525, 6522 and 6518c, required engines that could support varied pipeline sizes and working depths from 18 to 25 meters.
Cummins supplied marine power solutions for these dredgers, including QSK60 main engines rated at 1641 kW @ 1860 RPM, along with QSM11-D and KTA38(D)M1 auxiliary generator sets. This provided IHC Beaver with dependable, standardized power across multiple vessel models, helping support successful global deployment of its dredgers in markets such as India, Brazil, the UAE and Malaysia.
