Hope Services, a Dulac, Louisiana towboat builder, faced the ongoing need to equip its new, larger inland waterway vessels with reliable power solutions. The company worked with Cummins to support its latest Higman Marine Services towboat, the M/V Baffin Bay, with marine engines and generator sets suited for demanding towing operations.

Cummins supplied a pair of 38-liter KTA38 Tier 2 compliant marine engines, each rated at 1,000 HP, along with two Cummins 6BTA-powered 85 kW generator sets. The solution provided dependable propulsion and onboard power for the 78-by-34-foot towboat, helping deliver a vessel that could continue serving routes such as the Tennessee, Ohio, and ultimately Houston-bound waterways with proven performance.
