A Cummins Case Study

Holcim - Customer Case Study

Holcim (US) Inc. wanted its new Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri plant to be a model of environmental sustainability while still handling large volumes of materials and product movement. To support this challenge, Holcim relied on river transport for about 75% of the plant’s inbound and outbound logistics, creating a harbor on the Mississippi River and contracting Brennan Marine for fleeting services.

Cummins helped equip Brennan Marine’s new towboats with a pair of Tier 2 certified K38-M marine main engines, each rated at 1,000 HP at 1,800 RPM. The Cummins-powered M/V Roger Binsfeld and M/V Lisa Marie provided the power and durability needed for fleet operations at the Holcim plant, supporting efficient, environmentally conscious river transport for the site’s four-million-metric-ton-per-year operation.
