FT Farfan helped Trinidad Mooring & Launch address the challenge of repowering two aging high-speed crew boats, the 65-foot Sara P and the 74-foot Mr. Bud. The vessels needed a major engine upgrade, replacing older Detroit engines and related systems in tight hull spaces with Cummins KTA19-M4 marine engines.

Cummins, working with FT Farfan and vessel technicians, successfully installed a pair of Cummins KTA19-M4 engines in each boat, along with updated piping, controls, and drivetrain components. The Sara P was completed in under three weeks, and the Mr. Bud sea trial confirmed reliable performance with 700 HP per engine, extending the boats’ service life for many more years.
