Growth with a Range of Vessels

Xin Yue Feng Shipyard worked with Cummins on a new pusher tug designed for the Parana-Paraguay River. The main challenge was delivering very high propulsion power while maintaining a shallow six-foot draft for inland navigation and heavy barge pushing duties.

Cummins supplied four KTA50-M2 marine diesel engines for the vessel, each rated at 1,600 HP continuous at 1,800 RPM. Combined with efficient nozzles and drivetrain components, the Cummins-powered tug delivered 6,400 HP total, enabling it to push up to 40,000 tons in shallow water and strong river conditions.
