A Cummins Case Study
Ferrajón Water Reserve, a community of farmers in Comunidad Valenciana, Spain, faced a severe drought that threatened up to 60% of their crops and €17 million in losses. To extract water from wells up to 400 meters underground and pump it 17 km to their farms, they turned to Cummins for a prime power solution.
Cummins supplied 17 generator sets ranging from 150–700 kVA to run the water extraction and pumping network, supported by its local dealer Minguez. The systems were installed in parallel across multiple pumping stations, and the project was completed on a tight deadline, helping preserve 1,816 hectares of farmland and keeping crops green and in production, with later solar integration projected to cut diesel use by 90%.
