Digital Realty Datacampus - Customer Case Study

Digital Realty Datacampus, the operator of the Digital Dallas data center campus in Richardson, Texas, needed highly reliable standby power to support its modular, turn-key flex data center suites while meeting aggressive speed-to-market and uptime requirements. To help protect six separate data center suites and the building’s critical infrastructure, the company selected Cummins Power Generation generator sets for standby power in a design that also had to support redundant power, low noise, and quick service response.

Cummins supplied eight 2 MW DQKAB generator sets for the modular suites and one 400 kW DFEH generator for building power, with each suite also tied to a dedicated transformer and redundant power arrangement. The solution supported Digital Realty Datacampus’s plug-and-play modular architecture and helped the campus maintain its 99.999% uptime service record, with the customer reporting that Cummins generators were extremely dependable and responsive when needed.
