Digital Realty Datacampus, at 350 E. Cermak Road in Chicago, needed highly reliable standby power for its growing data center suites in one of the world’s largest carrier hotels. As the facility was converted into move-in-ready colocation space, the customer needed a solution that could deliver 99.999% uptime reliability, scale quickly, and fit a medium-voltage data center architecture.

Cummins supplied twelve 2 MW DQKAB diesel generator sets, along with two medium-voltage paralleling systems featuring PowerCommand master controls and transfer switches. The design provided N+1 redundancy for each suite, supported 10 MW of backup power on the fourth floor and a matching setup on the eighth floor, and helped Digital Realty achieve fast deployment and dependable protection for tenants.
