Dataplex - Customer Case Study

Dataplex, Hungary’s largest data centre and a subsidiary of Magyar Telekom, needed highly reliable standby power to keep mission-critical telecom, financial, and internet services running without interruption during outages and maintenance. To meet this challenge, Dataplex turned to Cummins for generator set technology, switchgear, transfer switches, utility paralleling, and a DMC 300 digital master control system.

Cummins implemented four C2000 D5 generator sets powered by QSK60 engines, along with supporting controls and paralleling equipment, to provide rapid mains take-over and reduce the burden on UPS batteries. The solution was installed despite challenging rooftop placement and delivered the short lead time Dataplex required, while supporting uninterrupted service and reliable backup power for the data centre.
