Cummins Powers Global Growth in Almond Production

Second Largest Almond Producer, one of the world’s leading almond growers in Australia, faced the challenge of powering new greenfield orchards efficiently as demand for almonds continued to rise. To support large-scale irrigation across expanding farms in Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia, the company needed a reliable, fuel-efficient pumping solution with strong support behind it. Cummins provided the engine and power package used in the irrigation system.

Cummins supplied seven QSB 4.5 Tier 3 ComPak Power Units, each paired with an end suction centrifugal pump and fully integrated with a water-to-water heat exchanger and other components. The solution delivered up to 155 litres/second of pumping capacity, fuel consumption of just 17 litres per hour at 1700 rpm, quieter operation, improved cooling stability in hot conditions, and up to 11 hp less parasitic power demand. Cummins’ solution helped the customer achieve lower total cost of ownership with efficient, dependable irrigation power.
