A Cummins Case Study
ELITE CITY RESORT, a luxury beachfront hotel in Kalamata, Greece, needed dependable standby power to keep guest services running through frequent and unpredictable grid outages, overvoltages, and undervoltages. With seasonal demand swings and a location exposed to infrastructure disruption, the hotel required a solution that could support high summer loads while still operating efficiently in quieter winter months. Cummins provided the standby power equipment, including parallel generator set capability and PowerCommand® controls.
Cummins installed two 500 kVA C500 D5 generator sets with QSX15 G8 engines, managed by a PowerCommand® PCC3201 control system, all housed indoors in a specially adapted room with exhaust and cooling provisions. The parallel setup let the hotel run efficiently on either unit, avoid low-load operation, and keep one generator available for maintenance year-round. As a result, ELITE CITY RESORT gained a reliable, discreet backup power system that maintained uninterrupted guest services and met its seasonal power needs.
