Cummins Installs New Emergency Backup Power For Lpg Filling Plant In Kuwait

Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC), Kuwait’s LPG distributor, needed to replace aging backup generators at its Shuaiba filling plant with higher-capacity units that could fit into the existing generator room and be installed without interrupting emergency power. Cummins was selected to support this critical upgrade with two standby generator sets for the live gas facility.

Cummins, working through local distributor GTE, supplied and installed 2 x C2000D5 standby generator sets delivering 4000 kVA of backup power. The team managed backup rentals, temporary cabling, utility approvals, and overnight changeover work so the plant could return to operation within an 8-hour window. The project was completed on time, with reliable standby power restored and no disruption to KOTC’s emergency supply.
