Cummins Helps Expand A Major Treatment Plant In Oman

Oman Water Treatment, through Haya Water’s Al Ansab sewage treatment plant and pumping station in Muscat, needed a reliable standby power solution to support a major expansion that nearly doubled treatment and pumping capacity. Cummins was selected to provide the turnkey power package, including generator sets and supporting equipment, for this critical infrastructure project.

Cummins, working with distributor Universal Engineering Services LLC, delivered a 14.5 MVA emergency standby power system built around five generator sets, including the first QSK95 Series-powered unit in Oman. The solution also included attenuators, bulk fuel tanks, piping, ventilation, and Neutral Grounding Resistors, and it was delivered on schedule to meet the project’s aggressive timeline. The expanded plant now supports 125,000 m3/day of treatment capacity and 260,000 m3/day of pumping capacity, helping supply more than 100,000 m3 of reusable water per day for Muscat’s irrigation needs.
