Cummins Auxiliaries for Powerful New Off Shore Vessel

Bollinger Shipyards needed reliable auxiliary power for the Ms. Charlotte, a 300 Class Deep Water Support Vessel built for Edison Chouest. The vessel’s electrical demands included cargo pumps, dual bow and stern thrusters, and support for Dynamic Positioning 2 operations, making dependable onboard power essential. Cummins supplied the auxiliary and emergency power equipment for the ship.

Cummins equipped the vessel with two QSK19-powered 525-kW generator sets, two Stamford PM734F 1500-kW shaft generators, and a 175-kW emergency generator set powered by a Cummins 6CTA8.3-DM engine. This solution provided the redundancy and capacity needed for critical vessel systems and helped meet SOLAS requirements. The result was a powerful, reliable offshore vessel with robust electrical support from Cummins.
