Cox Enterprises, a provider of digital video, Internet, telephone, and wireless services, needed a highly reliable standby power system for a new data center in Phoenix, Arizona. To support uninterrupted 24/7 service and meet critical power needs, Cox turned to Cummins for a compact, dependable solution with strong integration expertise.

Cummins implemented a paralleling standby power system featuring two PowerCommand® DMC 300 digital master controls and three 2 MW DQKAB diesel generator sets, with system design, integration, manufacturing, and service. The solution was built for N+N redundancy, load shifting between A and B switchgear, and future expansion to six generator sets, giving Cox double-redundant emergency power, improved safety, and a smaller footprint.
