Compliant And Reliable Gas Power Solutions Offered To Global Energy Supply Company

Rheinisch-Westfalisches Elektrizitatswerk (RWE), a global energy generation company, needed a compliant and reliable gas power solution to supply the UK National Grid under the capacity market mechanism. The company also required remote monitoring, fast response times, strict emissions compliance, and a noise-limited installation in an urban coastal location. Cummins provided the equipment and project expertise, including containerized gas generator sets and control systems.

Cummins delivered and installed 10 C2000N5C QSV91G containerized gas generator sets with PowerCommand 3300 and Digital Master Control 8000, along with civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning services. The 20 MW turnkey solution met RWE’s 80 dBa noise requirement, supported remote performance monitoring, and complied with MCPD emissions regulations. The units can start and pick up load within under two minutes, helping ensure fast, stable grid support with fewer voltage and frequency disturbances.
