Preview of the Chaophraya River Line Company Case Study

Chaophraya River Line Company - Customer Case Study

Chaophraya River Line Company needed a larger, more luxurious dinner cruise vessel for Bangkok’s crowded Chao Phraya River market, with enough capacity, shallow-draft performance, and low air draft to navigate the river’s conditions and bridges. To power the new flagship, the company turned to Cummins for marine propulsion and onboard electrical generation.

Cummins supplied a pair of KTA38 M1 main engines rated at 1,000 HP each, along with two KTA19-powered 350 kW generator sets. The solution enabled the 65 x 16-meter Wonderful Pearl to carry 650 to 800 guests across two or three decks while supporting extensive lighting, escalators, air conditioning, and multiple galley areas, helping the vessel set a new standard in Bangkok’s dinner cruise market.
