Cantiere Navale Vittoria - Customer Case Study

Cantiere Navale Vittoria, an Italian shipyard on the Canal Bianco in Adria, needed reliable main propulsion for a new fast supply vessel designed for crew transport, cargo handling, and offshore operations. To meet the vessel’s performance and redundancy requirements, the shipyard turned to Cummins for diesel propulsion engines.

Cummins supplied four KTA50-M2 diesel engines, each rated at 1,342 kW (1,800 HP) at 1,900 RPM, paired with ZF 5050 A gearboxes to drive fixed propellers. The installation delivered a total of 5,372 kW (7,200 HP), enabling the Blue Brother to reach a top speed of 28 knots while supporting Dynamic Positioning 2 capability and operational redundancy.
