Canetec - Customer Case Study

Canetec, an Australian manufacturer of cane harvesters, needed a lighter, more fuel-efficient machine with improved cleaning capability to separate trash from cane billets. For its new AX7500 cane harvester, it turned to Cummins and the Cummins QSL9 engine to help meet those operational demands.

Cummins provided the QSL9-powered solution, which enabled the AX7500 to deliver strong fuel performance, reaching about 0.6 litres per tonne and exceeding industry expectations. The custom integration also supported higher ground speeds, better cane/trash ratios, and efficient cooling, and the engine was adapted for Tier 4 Final with EGR and SCR technologies to meet stringent emissions requirements.
