Case Study: Seacrest Marine builds advanced dive vessels with Cummins engines

A Cummins Case Study

Preview of the Seacrest Marine Case Study

Building for Domestic and Foreign Customers

Seacrest Marine, a Thai shipbuilder serving both domestic and international customers, needed a reliable propulsion solution for a sophisticated 52-meter dive support vessel with demanding performance and comfort requirements. The vessel also had to support divers with compressors and other specialized equipment while meeting a design speed of 20 knots.

Cummins supplied a pair of KTA50-M2 diesel engines, each rated at 1,875 HP at 1,950 RPM, installed in a medium continuous duty configuration and paired with ZF gearboxes and conventional propellers. The Cummins-powered vessel delivered the required propulsion for the dive boat, while Seacrest’s precision design and fabrication process helped minimize welds and pipe waste, supporting efficient construction and a high-quality final build.
