Buenos Aries - Customer Case Study

Buenos Aries needed a powerful, modern harbor tug to support ship-handling and towing operations in the Port of Buenos Aires. To meet that challenge, the customer worked with **Cummins** on the propulsion and auxiliary power package for the Argentinian-built tug *Brutus*, including high-output marine diesel engines and supporting onboard systems.

**Cummins** supplied a pair of QSK60 engines for the main propulsion system, along with additional Cummins engines for the pump-set and gensets. The result was the 5,400 HP *Brutus*, delivering 75 tons of bollard pull and becoming the most powerful ship-handling tug in Argentina, with reliable performance for both bow and stern operations.
