Bolzano Central Hospital in Italy needed a brand-new standby power system for its new facility, with strict hospital-grade requirements for fast load acceptance, reliability, and low noise. Cummins was selected to design and supply the power generation solution, including five C2500D5 generators, for the hospital’s emergency power needs.

Cummins implemented a parallel generator setup with synchronized operation to deliver full-load acceptance within 10 seconds, along with redundant electrical/pneumatic starting, fire and gas protection, and 65 dB soundproof containers.
