Bollinger Shipyards - Customer Case Study

Bollinger Shipyards needed to deliver a new class of 234-foot Platform Supply Vessels for its sister company, Beemar Inc., to support offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico and international markets. To meet those requirements, Bollinger relied on Cummins-powered propulsion and onboard systems for the vessel design, including engines for main propulsion, generators, and thrusters.

Cummins supplied a complete power package for the M/V Bumble Bee, including twin QSK60-M main propulsion engines, QSM11 generator engines, an 85 kW generator, and KTA19 drive engines for the bow thrusters. The result was a high-capacity DP-2 PSV with substantial cargo capability, including 598.1 cubic meters of fuel, 1,430.9 cubic meters of liquid mud, and a maximum deck cargo capacity of 2,032.1 metric tons, helping Beemar expand its modern offshore fleet.
