A Cummins Case Study
Blessey Marine is a rapidly growing inland river towing company focused primarily on petroleum-related products. To support its expanding fleet and demand for handy-sized towboats, the company needed reliable, powerful propulsion and onboard systems for its 2000 HP class vessels, including the MV Steve Scalise and MV Jerry “Dog” McLain.
Cummins supplied the main engines for both towboats with EPA Tier 2 compliant K38-M/Cummins K38 main engines, along with 6BT5.9-powered generators, helping Blessey Marine outfit two different vessel configurations for inland towing. The result was two capable, inspection-compliant towboats with strong fuel and utility capacity, supported by Cummins power for dependable river service.
