Benlon India Ltd, a leading textile manufacturer in Kundli, Haryana, needed a reliable and more economical alternative to diesel and an unreliable grid supply for its continuous yarn production. Working with Cummins, the company sought prime power for its factories using natural gas generator sets and PowerCommand® control systems.
Cummins installed and commissioned five natural gas-fueled generator sets across three Benlon plants, including 2 x 1160 kWe QSK60 units, 2 x 575 kWe QSK38 units, and 1 x 2000 kWe QSV91. The solution enabled continuous island-mode operation at 93% load and 95% uptime availability, helped avoid costly interruptions of about $20,000 each, and provided a more cost-efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound power supply backed by 24/7 support from Cummins.
