Beneteau Swift Trawler needed a reliable, quiet onboard power solution for its Swift Trawler 34 as it prepared to complete the demanding Great Loop around eastern North America. Working with Cummins, the boat was outfitted with a 7.5 kW Cummins Onan MDKBJ marine diesel generator to support long-distance cruising where shore power would not always be available.

Cummins implemented the MDKBJ generator with a sound shield and 60 Hz conversion for North American use, helping power air conditioning, battery charging, refrigeration, and hot water throughout the 5,300-mile voyage. The generator performed flawlessly over 496 hours of operation, contributed to the boat’s low-noise reputation, and helped the trip finish successfully, with the vessel even sold before the journey ended.
