A Cummins Case Study
Belgian Greenhouse, a horticultural company in Dottenijs, West Flanders, needed a cogeneration solution to meet its growing energy demands while improving efficiency and reducing costs. Cummins addressed the challenge with a 2MW HSK78G gas generator, helping the greenhouse add reliable on-site power alongside its existing operations.
Cummins installed the C2000N5C HSK78G gas generator to provide electricity, heat, and CO₂ for fertilization, while also enabling flexible energy use and grid support. The system achieved 44.2% electrical efficiency and 103% total efficiency by converting waste heat into productive energy, and surplus electricity is sold back to the grid, delivering ongoing cost savings and improved profitability.
