ATB Financial - Customer Case Study

ATB Financial faced the challenge of supporting the launch of Q-LNG 4000, the first LNG ATB bunker vessel built in the U.S., designed to service growing demand for clean-burning LNG fuel for cruise ships and car carriers. To power the vessel’s many onboard systems and cargo-handling functions, the project relied on Cummins marine engines and auxiliary generator sets.

Cummins supplied nine marine engines across the tug and barge, including QSM11-DM, QSB7-DM, and QSK19-DM-powered generators that provide propulsion support, harbor and emergency power, fire-pump capability, and high-capacity auxiliary power. The result is a US-flag, ABS-class LNG bunkering ATB with a 4,000-cubic-meter LNG cargo capacity, designed for 10-knot service and chartered long term by Shell for operations out of Port Canaveral, Florida.
