Asia Avra Towage Singapore Pte Ltd., part of Avra Towage, was expanding its tug fleet and needed reliable marine propulsion for a new vessel, Northwind. The company had already seen success with Cummins main engines on three of its earlier tugs, making Cummins the natural choice for the next addition.

Cummins supplied a pair of KTA50-M marine engines for Northwind, replacing the smaller 38-liter engines used on earlier boats. The new setup delivered a combined 3,200 HP and increased bollard pull to 43 tons, helping the customer add a more powerful tug to its fleet with proven Cummins performance.
