Aries Marine needed a reliable, efficient power and propulsion setup for the Betty Pfankuch, a green-design diesel-electric platform supply vessel operating in demanding offshore conditions. Cummins provided the vessel’s marine power solution, centered on four QSK60 DM generator engines and the Cummins Eliminator oil system.

Cummins’ diesel-electric system gave Aries Marine the flexibility to place engines on the main deck, preserve more hull space for cargo, and support DP2 redundancy and multiple electric-driven ship functions. The result was a clean, dependable vessel that completed an eight-month charter in Mexico without losing a charter day, while the chief engineer reported minimal sludge buildup and easy maintenance on the Cummins Eliminator.
