AgriBio - Customer Case Study

AgriBio, Victoria’s Centre for AgriBioscience at La Trobe University in Melbourne, needed a reliable, efficient power solution to support its bioscience research while minimizing environmental impact. Cummins supplied a tri-generation system with baseload gas generation, standby diesel generator sets, and digital master control to meet the facility’s demanding power requirements.

Cummins implemented a 1160kWe lean-burn gas genset for tri-generation, two 1600kW diesel gensets for standby, and a DMC300 control system to integrate electricity, heating, and cooling with seamless load sharing and transfer. The solution improved energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and supported maximum power availability for the $288 million facility and its up to 400 staff.
